Cellulite plagues 90 percent of women, whether they are thin or fat. It's our cross to bear. Now the second bit of bad news is that cellulite is uniquely a female problem, because men are spared of it. Cellulite appears on the abdomen, thighs and buttocks as lumpy, dimpled skin. This is because fat deposits accumulate beneath the skin and balloon to appear as dimples on the skin. There is no 100 percent solution to a cellulite-free body but science and technology are always coming up with new solutions while tried and tested methods are still being used by women to diffuse the cellulite, if not remove it completely. Laser: The most effective methods so far are the laser and radio frequency-enabled devices that produce heat to minimize and reduce the appearance of cellulite. However the equipment is expensive and hence the treatments are too, and thus these are not within everyone's reach. But since this is a one-time treatment (with 6 or more sessions depending on the intensity of the problem) those who can afford it find that this is the biggest convenience. Oils and creams: Topical application of anti-cellulite oil and creams with caffeine has long been practised by women to get rid of the little lumps. While topical applications have limited results, it calls for intense massaging to see even a little result. Scrubs: Coffee scrubs and dry brushing (with a soft bristle brush) are advised to not only gently exfoliate the skin but also to stimulate lymphatic drainage and alleviate some of the appearance of cellulite.
