Plymouth resident Omar Charles yesterday appeared before a Scarborough magistrate charged with the murder of teenager Precious Wills. Charles was not called upon to plead when he appeared and he was remanded into custody to reappear on October 2. Wills, 17, died after she was shot in the chest on August 27 at the Up Top Bar and Lounge in Crown Point while liming with her friend. A police report said Wills was hit by a stray bullet after someone discharged a firearm into the crowd. She was rushed to the Scarborough General Hospital where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival. An 18-year-old woman who was with her at the time was also injured. Yesterday, police said her condition had improved and she was now out of the ICU unit and in a stable condition. Following investigations, police arrested a suspect. Charles was charged last Friday night for murder, shooting with intent to cause grievous body harm and possession of firearm and ammunition. An autopsy performed last Wednesday showed she died from a single gunshot that pierced her heart.
