Patna, Sep 4 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday reviewed the preparedness to check spread of Dengue fever in the state and directed authorities concerned to take all steps to protect people from the disease. Kumar, while reviewing the preparedness, asked the authorities concerned to take all possible steps to check spread of Dengue fever in Bihar. Beds and other facilities like availablity of medicines and doctors should be ensured in all government hospitals, he added. "Platelets should remain available in blood banks in sufficient volume to meet requirements of Dengue patients", the Chief Minister said, adding that sprinkling of disinfectants and other chemicals should be done on regular basis to check spread of Dengue infection. Any laxity on part of authorities in this connection would not be tolerated at all, Nitish said. Kumar said that people should be made aware about measures required to be taken to protect themselves from Dengue. Services of all formats of media including News Channels, Newspapers and others should be utilised to create awareness on how to protect oneself from Dengue, he stressed. UNI KKS CS1916
