Congress neither respects the country nor the Constitution of the country: JP Nadda | Image: PTI The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a scathing attack on the Congress party following a controversial incident during a Congress meeting. The incident involved a Congress legislator urging party workers to chant only pro-Congress slogans when "Bharat Mata ki Jai" slogans were raised during a meeting in Jaipur. BJP national president JP Nadda did not hold back in his criticism of the Congress party. He stated, "Congress neither respects the country nor the Constitution of the country." Taking on social media platform 'X' (formerly Twitter), Nadda continued, "Why does Congress have so much objection to everything related to the honour and pride of the country? Why do those who carried out our political yatra in the name of 'Bharat Jodo' hate the 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' slogans?" Nadda's criticism was not limited to Congress's stance on patriotic slogans. He added, "It is clear that Congress neither respects the country nor the Constitution of the country, nor the constitutional institutions. It is only interested in praising a specific family. The whole country knows that Congress harbours anti-national and anti-constitutional intentions." The controversy that triggered this political firestorm unfolded during a Congress meeting in Jaipur, where leaders and supporters of the party had gathered. The party observer in Rajasthan, Aradhana Mishra, who is also a legislator from Uttar Pradesh, attempted to restore order and discipline amid a ruckus. "If any single slogan is chanted to anyone, it will be considered as indiscipline," Mishra declared during the meeting. However, her statement was met with a chorus of "Bharat Mata ki Jai" slogans from the attendees. Reacting to the slogans, Mishra turned towards the source and urged those present, saying, "If you love to chant slogans, then chant pro-Congress slogans and no other." National spokesperson of the BJP, Shehzad Poonawalla, condemned Mishra's statement. Poonawalla said, "Congress observer Aaradhna Tiwari says chanting Bharat Mata Ki Jai is indiscipline; chant Congress Zindabad instead. Earlier too in Rajasthan, Congress threatened workers against chanting Bharat Mata ki Jai and said chant Sonia Ji Ki Jai. This is what happens when you put Party, Parivar above Nation." "Congress has a long history of abusing, insulting Bharat Mata, Bharat Ki Sena & Bharat ki Janta & Bharat Ki Sanskriti... from questioning surgical strike to saying the elimination of Sanatan to demanding foreign intervention into India," the BJP leader leader tweeted. BJP's Priti Gandhi also slammed the Grand Old Party saying, "Congress is not only anti-Hindu & anti-Sanatan but also anti-National. In the Congress Committee meeting held at Jaipur, Rajasthan, co-ordinator Aradhana Tiwari objected to chanting 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai', calling it "indiscipline". Whether it's their local leaders or top leadership, the mindset of their entire party is rotten to the core!"
