New Delhi: The bypolls on seven seats in six key states is perceived as the first face-off between the 26-member INDIA block and the BJP-led NDA, before the big elections in the coming months and the results will be seen as a test of the bloc's strength and unity.The INDIA bloc, which comprises top parties like the Congress, Trinamool Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, Rashtriya Janata Dal, TMC, JMM, AAP, DMK, NC, PDP, CPI(M), CPI, RJD, SP and RLD among others, has said that it will contest elections "together as far as possible" in order to defeat the BJP-led NDA in the 2024 Lok Sabha election. The bypolls today are probably a good opportunity for the bloc to test this strategy and see how well it can work together.
